Everything You Should Know About EOT Crane!

EOT cranes (Electric Overhead Traveling) are a kind of overhead crane, also known as bridge cranes. The crane runs on electricity. It consists of a parallel runway and a moving bridge. Because of its complex design and it has applications in high-stakes industries. Also, it is crucial to have an operator and a remote station to control or monitor the functions of the EOT Crane

Different Working Components of EOT Crane-

EOT essentially has three components-

  • Crane Hook Up and Down Lifting,
  • Trolley Vertical Movement
  • Crane linear movement

Features Of EOT Crane-

An EOT Crane has all the electric motors. Other than that,

  • The incorporation of a heavy-duty cast steel cable guide is there.
  • It includes a hook travel limit switch on both upper and lower hooks.
  • Forged steel constructs the girder.
  • EOT cranes do not require much upkeeping as their bodies are corrosion-resistant.

Types-

There are two main types of EOT Crane. These are-

  • Single girder EOT crane
  • Double girder EOT crane

Single Girder EOT Crane-

The Single Girder EOT Crane features one primary girder. It comprises an electric hoist that travels on the main girder’s bottom flange. Also, for traveling on the adjacent runways, single girder EOT cranes will not require the rail component. Single Girder EOT Cranes, in general, do not have a platform. The crane has disc brakes with DC (Direct current) that slow down the motion of the crane. Therefore, the single-girder EOT cranes are good for moderate tasks like material handling.

Double Girder EOT Crane-

Unlike Single Girder EOT Cranes, the parallel runways have Double Girder EOT Crane that features two major girders. It has a certain (crab) mechanism that moves above both the girders and the rails. The platform is on both sides of the twin girder cranes. Such arrangement of the platform helps utilize crab maintenance. Additionally, the 8-wheel layout on double girder EOT cranes reduces the wheel load at a specific spot. Cranes of this sort are simple to maintain.

EOT Crane Applications-

EOT Crane Manufacturers in India give a complex yet effective design to an EOT crane. Thus, the wide variety of applications it serves:

  • Ceramics Manufacturing
  • Power plants,
  • Construction Industries
  • Power plants,
  • Industries of Chemicals
  • Dairy Industries Steel Plant
  • Foundries
  • Textile Industry Cement Industry
  • Textile Industry Cement Industry
  • Hydrocarbon
  • And much more!
